Famous essentials

Every respected blogger posts their daily regime online, so that everyone can see what brands are trending now. Skincare in general is on top of everyone’s priorities. We want to look good with no make-up and dry-shampooed hair. Scandinavian look is the new french ‘au naturel’. I actually think, that regardless big money behind PR of cosmetic brands, it is amazing we focused on skincare rather than fake look trending last year. Don’t get me wrong. If you’re a makeup artist and you master lash extensions and eyeliner along with contour and kissable lips, fair enough. I respect that. But when I see girls, trying to do their best in contouring with orange shade, poor quality ‘beauty’ products, very graphic eyebrows and barely glued lash extensions, I want to scream. Hopefully the ‘no make up’ make up get to them real quick!

Having an access to a huge range of beauty products on everyday basis, I purchase and try them a lot. I’ve got some favourites, I also have some products I’d love to get my hands on, but can never get myself to get shipment from the US.

Here’s some of my favourites of the moment.

Glossier’s Haloscope in Moonstone is for everyday makeup. It just looks like you’ve had a moisturizing treatment and you look glowy without looking sweaty.

Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation is my favourite of foundations so far. I find it very flexible. Why? Because it leaves silky sheer coverage after first layer, but then you can build it up, to a medium coverage. I use it without any concealer atm and I’m very happy with the results.

To prep and prime my skin I use

  • Glossier Milky Jelly cleanser- super duper gentle product, I can even open my eyes while washing my face
  • The Ordinary Vitamin C solution- one drop just after washing
  • Glossier Priming Moisturizer- light and rich cream, I put it all over my face in round motion, as well as on my neck
  • Laura Mercier Wonder Glow primer- I only use a tiny bit, it’s got this shimmering bits that add extra glow, looks beautiful
  • Glossier Haloscope in Moonstone- spread it on my cheekbones and top of the nose, looking fresh

Yes, Gabrielle Chanel perfume. I’ve been using it since 1st Sep and it’s now became my favourite fragrance. I sort of ditched my Byredo for Chanel. If you still haven’t try it, go now to the nearest Sephora (or whatever perfume boutique) and try it on your skin. It evolves and changes a lot thorough the day.

I have just started using Aesop haircare. It was growing on me for a long time and finally I get to try it. First thing- fragrance. It just smell luxurious. Or how my boyfriend says ‘it smells like a rich person’. Fragrance stays on hair all day, so every time you shake your head, you feel rich. Hehe. Second thing- small amount goes a long way. One pump of shampoo is enough to wash my long hair. Savvy. Thumbs up! Conditioner description says you should use a spoonful of the cream and spread mid length down. I put a little less than that and I’m still good. Again, my hair is long and I’ve got a lot of it. Third thing- shine. My locks are so soft and shiny. Really delicate, soft, but also full of energy to bounce back and forth. Amazing.

Now, I have used Kevin Murphy in the past. I liked it, but 250 ml packaging was not enough for me, because I wash my hair everyday. Even though I try to use small amounts, it didn’t foam much. I found that quite annoying. Products themselves were good, my hair was soft and shiny, but it was not economical of me to keep using Murphy. Aesop comes in 500 ml containers. Win for me.

Parsley seed toner is just a sample, but after a try, I have to say, I’m really enjoying it. I tap it onto my skin and leave it to absorb. It gives me glowing and soft face, which works for me.

Picture of me and my evening makeup. I was going to Sushi Tetsu, the ultimate best London sushi place and so I wanted to look glamorous.
