Lets talk skin

Over last few weeks I’ve been testing some products and I have my favourites. I thought I’d share my opinions here, so you guys can use them in your decisions. I compare the ‘it’ products in the latest beauty world. I’m talking cruelty free, no animal testing and very organic when it comes to production. All the things we love. Let’s start then!

Two different serums, yet very similar. We talk hydration here. I use Hyaluronic Acid AM and Rose Hip Seed Oil PM. The AM choice leaves clear film on skin, a little bit sticky, but I put primer/moisturiser on it and it blends beautifully. I absolutely adore this one. My skin feels nice all day, it stays there protecting and hydrating my skin, absolutely discreet.

The PM choice is my favourite. I think I love every product with Rose/ Rose Hip (which in my mind works as well) I put it on every night before bedtime and I wake up with moisturised skin, no break-outs, just fresh.

Primers! Moisturisers! YAY!
Glossier Priming Moisturizer- I love Glossier. I really do. I like the brand itself and the idea behind it, I like products. I have to admit though, this product did not steal my heart. It’s a nice moisturizer, leaves clear film on skin, absorbs quickly, no smell so all good. Why did I not love it? Because it was just fine. Looked good, felt good, but no fireworks, whereas The Ordinary Primer had that WOW factor. I used both primers with The Ordinary Colours Serum Foundation and I have to say- Silicone Primer made my skin look flawless. My friends commented on my skin that day and that does not happen irl. You get comments on makeup, but not on skin. Welp, that day my skin was on it, owning it!

Foundation time!
My skin has some problems with break-outs and little pimples. I also have some redness here and there, but overall it isn’t bad. I don’t like full coverage mask on my skin, so I go for the lighter products.

picture of my most used foundations
I like natural, healthy glow and so here are my winners.
Number one: Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation- very nice, sheer, evens out skin colour, buildable, it’s everything you want from foundation. It is pricey though, so for everyday use I would definitely go for The Ordinary Colours. It is natural, very adaptable, doesn’t crease, stays on skin for at least 8h. Just what you want and so affordable!!!
Les Beiges from Chanel has been with me for past few years and I always like to use it. I think it’s the nice fragrance that makes application luxurious. Gives similar effect to GA, but it’s not as liquidy, so the coverage is more visible (still, not too much, I don’t like the ‘mask’ look).

from left: Glossier, Stila, Becca

I am not going to choose a winner here. They’re all different and I love all of them. Glossier is for a daytime. It looks natural, gives you that dewy look, without looking sweaty. It’s a everyday highlighter. Stila is really good, I pat it with my fingertips on my cheekbones and it looks very shimmery, it leaves a bit of colour too (my shade is kitten). In comparison to Becca highliter, it’s got coarser glitter. Becca is discreet , very shimmery, very romantic. It’s one of those products that I will definitely re-buy.

have you ever noticed that both of those companies’ names end with a dot? Glossier. The Ordinary. I guess it’s a thing now. Myna.
